SME owners need to keep in touch with others

I am one of the facilitators for Small Business Victoria workshops on business planning and marketing. Over time I have meet hundreds of small business owners who have had a positive mindset about building their business.

Suddenly small business owners face a situation never seen before in the last sixty years. There have been setbacks through economic downturns but not a double hit that is the current economic and health environment.

I have spoken to as many small business owners as possible last week and the attached image illustrates how they are feeling.

Many, who are family owned businesses, are struggling to come to terms with having to put loyal employees off.

No one is immune from feeling helpless and this feeling will linger for a while yet. Don’t bottle up your feelings, we are all feeling the same frustration.

If you can get yourself into a recovery mindset and talk to others, you will find your friends and work colleagues are good listeners.
