Do you have what it takes to work for yourself instead of for someone else?

Do you have what it takes to work for yourself instead of for someone else?

There is currently a carer shortage, which is set to worsen with the impact of Covid leaving even more families dependent on informal care provided by friends, family, neighbors and others.  As a nation, we are in need of enthusiastic carers who are dedicated to providing care in home-based settings. In this area, you can experience a truly rewarding level of professional fulfilment and job satisfaction, and you can make a huge difference to the lives of many by providing care, support and companionship.

As Australia emerges from Covid-19 lockdowns into a new world a lot will be different. More jobs will be casual, part-time and shift work based. All these workers will need more flexible and locally accessible family care options to be able to work in these jobs. You can provide a new essential service offering Life. Be in it. FamilyCare to respond to this need.

We are looking for under and unemployed carers, home-schoolers and casual teachers in the Greater Geelong/Barwon Region willing to try something different and with our support set up their own small family care business providing non-clinical family care for children, elderly and people with a disability.

We will support you to set up and operate your own independent small business to service families in your community where you can choose your own hours, rates and non-clinical family support services (within your qualifications) so you do not have to give up any other commitments you have.

If you have a certificate III (or higher qualification) you can get set up very quickly. If you don’t we can provide an entry level induction program and access to online Certificate III training pathways provided by our partner GOTAFE. If you are missing essential prerequisites including Police Checks, Working With Children Checks, First Aid Certificate (004 level), we also have you covered and you can obtain these on our platform too.

We are now inducting family carers for children who can elect to work from their own homes or the homes of parents, caring for up to 3 children. In November 2020 we will be ready to begin inducting family carers for elderly and disability family members.
